For Parents |
Thank-you for supporting your child's decision to enroll in one of PV's Guitar Classes.
One of the reasons that I love teaching this class is that I believe that
it is a good thing for kids to learn. If you think back, you might remember that
being a teenager wasn't always easy. I want to encourage you to continue
your support by signing up for Parent Connect and monitoring your childs' grades
and progress. Grades are usually updated every two weeks. Your student's guitar will be something they will need at school every day. Forgetting to bring it will reflect directly on their grade (they can keep them at school if this becomes a problem). You can also get them a "beater" for use at school if you don't want them thrashing your prize Martin! And remember, it has to be an acoustic guitar. When your child decides to get an electric, don't worry (yet!). The sound of an electric guitar is really OK as long as it is in tune! An electric guitar that is out of tune sounds horrendous at any volume. The cost of a guitar tuner is way cheaper than therapy. You can find them for under $20 and they can be used on acoustic or electric. One last note: When your child decides to give up on school and focus on becoming a rock star, remind them that they always need a backup plan. Thanks for visiting! -Dan |
