Grading: Performances and Evening Rehearsals**

Every student is required to attend all performances and extra rehearsals.

Just like being on a team, RIGHT?!

Being part of any good organization requires participation. If you are on a team, you are expected to be at practice and games. If you are in a band, the same is true. Band is a unique class because it is also very much like playing team sports. The difference is that band members receive a grade for participation.

Games: The PV Band will be performing for four home games this year and at the Almond Bowl, which is held annually at CSUC Stadium.
Practices: Evening practices are held on Monday Nights from 7:00 - 8:30 at PV. It is much more sensible to practice in the evenings during the hot months of August and September.
Sectionals: Section rehearsals are held once per week immediately after school for ½ hour. Sectionals will be scheduled during the first week of school.
Individual Practice: Each student must be dedicated to learning their music. This requires a certain amount of individual practice. I will be available to help at any time.

Notice of schedule conflicts for rehearsals and performances needs to be made at least one week beforehand in order to avoid loss of grade points.

**A typical week during football season will require 4 to 5 hours participation outside of class time for practices and games. Football season lasts until the middle of October. Parents and family members are always welcome at games and encouraged to sit in our "Boosters Section".
